According to Ayurveda, the sacred fig leaves are beneficial in the curing constipation. You need to dry these leaves in shade and then powdered. Add a solution prepared from anise and jaggery to the powder. Make some pills in the form tablets and take one with a glass of warm milk. Consume this remedy before retiring to bed.
Bruises:
The leaves of sacred fig are effective in the treatment of wounds and bruises. Pound the leaves and mix them well with jaggery. Consume each pill daily with warm milk. This remedy is also useful in alleviating the pain due to wound and bruises.
Scrofula:
The book of Ayurveda encloses remedies on Scrofula- which is very serious ailment of neck. In this disease, the lymphatic gland of the neck gets swollen causing severe pain and agitation. Sacred fig that grows on tiled wall with its roots resting in brickwork and not touched the ground. These roots are highly beneficial in the treatment of Scrofula. Rub some roots with water and prepare a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the glands to alleviate the swelling.
Mumps:
Mumps can be cured with the help of sacred fig leaves. Smudge the leaves with ghee on warm fire. Wrap the leaves as bandage on the inflamed part to get relief.
